Practical and chic, these Carpenter Shorts are made from garment-dyed Italian cotton ripstop, crafted by the experts at Sondrio. Tucked away in the heart of the Alps, the family-run Tessuti di Sondrio mill was founded in 1895 and is one of Italy’s most revered cotton fabric weavers. Ripstop is a military innovation, often used in uniforms and parachutes — it’s woven using a special technique that creates a fine crosshatch pattern, making it both lightweight and incredibly resistant to tearing. They’re comfortable, too, with a roomy 9” inseam, elastic drawstring waist and easy fit. One extra-special design detail: the “hidden” patch pockets, beneath the cargo pockets.
